Ngarrpiya (Octopus) is the cinematic start to week of 4 O'Clock NAIDOC Drops.
This one from the Arnhem Land's East Journey is a huge, encapsulating number, and comes courtesy of an all star cast of collaborators.
On top of being produced by Steve Salas (The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Parliament Funk, Rod Stewart), it was created in collaboration with several members of Yothu Yindi (drummer Gathapura Mununggurr, yidaki player and dancer Ngalkanbuy Mununggurr, and backing vocalist Malngay Yunupingu).
Another fun fact, East Journey lead singer Rrawun Maymuru actually wrote the ARIA chart-topping single Bayini for Gurrumul.
